Ruth Weld left a bequest to TSF when she died in August 1987. Her brother Charles died in 1994 and the fund was established in January 1995. Both lived all their lives on Chestnut Street. During her career, Ruth was associated with gas electric power companies in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. She was a charter member of the Electric Woman’s Roundtable in New York City. Locally, she was a member of the Kosmos Club, the Harmony Chapter #60 of the Order of the Eastern Star, First Parish Congregational Church, and the Wakefield Historical Society. Her brother Charles assisted his father who operated an ice cream business in Wakefield. He also worked at the Charlestown Navy Yard during World War II.
