A former TSF recipient who was a friend of the son of the late John M. Riley initiated this fund. John Riley, Class of 1938 and WWII veteran, joined the Wakefield Fire Department in 1953. He retired in 1975 as Captain, He was active in local organizations including the Knights of Columbus, and Local 1478 of the Firefighters Union. This fund has a preference for a student who is a child of a firefighter or a student who is studying in the medical or health field.
