Dr. Stephen F. Maio Fund

The Executive Committee of The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield established this fund in December 1993 on the occasion of Dr. Maio’s retirement as Superintendent of Schools. This fund honors Dr. Maio’s many years of service not only to the community but also to TSF of Wakefield, which he served as a director for more than 18 years. It was Dr. Maio who introduced the idea of conducting the TSF town-wide Phonathon. This annual event continues to be the single most successful fundraiser for the benefit of Wakefield students. This fund has a preference for a student pursuing a career in education.
