William E. & Jeanne F. Bloom Fund

William Bloom was a longtime resident of Wakefield. He operated Crystal Lumber Company on Foundry Street from 1954 until he died in late 1988. He was active in the Lions Club locally and statewide, serving as local President District Governor, and on the Massachusetts Lions Club Eye Research Fund Board. He was chosen as the WSSC Man of the Year in 1962. His wife, Jeanne died in June 2001 at age 81. She was interested in research for eye diseases through the Lions Club and was involved with Special Needs Education. She was a breast cancer survivor.
