The members of the Wakefield Tennis Association had made awards annually via TSF for a number of years before they decided to establish a permanent fund. This fund has a preference for a student who was a member of his or her High School tennis team. The Association added to the fund every year via its annual Labor Day Classic Tennis Tournament.
