Stanley M. Finkelstein Memorial Fund

This fund, originally named the Lewis and Mark Finkelstein Past Recipients Fund, was a new concept in TSF Funds, given by the parents of two former recipients, with the help of the recipients themselves, in appreciation of their TSF scholarship awards. Upon their father’s death in 2015, the fund was renamed the Stanley M. Finkelstein Memorial Fund to reflect their dad’s passion for TSF. Mr. Finkelstein served as a United States Marine from 1949 to 1952, at which time he entered General College at Boston University. He graduated in 1954 as Class President with an Associate of Arts with honor and then in 1956 earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the School of Management at Boston University. In 1960, Mr. Finkelstein became a Massachusetts Certified Public Accountant, and he had resided with his family in Wakefield for fifty-seven years. Mr. Finkelstein was an active member of the committee to raise money for TSF to establish a Permanent Fund in the memory of President John F. Kennedy. Also, he served as chairman of the Wakefield Building Code Committee from 1963 to 1971, culminating in a New Building Code accepted by a unanimous vote at Town Meeting.
