This fund was established by the bequest of Mary Selena Kalaher Gardner, who was a member of the WHS Class of 1922. She died in 1998. When her husband died in 1999, her will provided scholarships for two female students from Wakefield schools who are pursuing Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing. Mrs. Gardner, who lived in Lexington, was active with the Class of 1922, serving as coordinator of both her 50th and 55th reunions. She kept a meticulous scrapbook of her class and their activities.
