John M. Gallucci Fund

A well-known, life-long resident of Wakefield, John Gallucci was a member of the Board of Selectmen when he died suddenly on September 22, 2005 at the age of 45. The John M. Gallucci Fund was established by John’s friends, Kevin Blois, John Doto, Linda Orsini, and Jack Urbaczewski in order to commemorate their friend’s life. Proceeds came from a benefit held at the Crystal Community Club and included a buffet, a comedy show, music, and karaoke. This fund has a preference for a Wakefield student who will be pursuing a career in broadcasting or communications. In his younger years, John was a wedding DJ and even had his own radio show WJUL in Lowell. John was a big-hearted guy who was a champion to those whose voices were not always heard.
