Sebastian and Patricia Canavan Tine Fund

The Sebastian and Patricia Canavan Tine Fund was established in 2013. The couple met while teaching at WHS in 1964. They married February 19, 1968. Patricia C. Tine was born February 24, 1940 in Connecticut. She taught at Waterford, CT HS before coming to Wakefield in 1964. She was at WHS 1964-1965, and then went to Brown University to work on her Masters. Patricia returned to WHS for a year in 1969, and taught Biology. She also taught at Concord-Carlisle and Stoneham. She was active with the Wakefield Food Pantry and was a member of the St. Joseph’s Choir. Patricia died January 8, 2011. Sebastian was born June 16, 1934. He graduated from WHS in 1952, and B.C. in 1956. He did his practice teaching at WHS in 1957, and received his Masters from B.C. in 1960. Sebastian taught for a year at a private boy’s boarding school in NJ, then was hired at WHS and spent 5 years (1961-1966) teaching Spanish and Business subjects. He is a member and past president of St. Joseph – St. Florence Chi-Rho, Middlesex County Assessors and Massachusetts Assessors. He is a member of St. Joseph’s Choir and served on Wakefield’s Board of Assessors.
