This fund was initiated by Mrs. Finley’s peers at the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library and became permanent with the contributions of her family and friends. She served from 1970 to 1988 as a Trustee of the library. Mrs. Finlay demonstrated a lifelong commitment to learning and reading, teaching at the elementary and junior high levels in Wakefield from 1952 to her retirement in 1980, and tutoring in the Adult Literacy Program at the library.
