Mary and William F. McDonough Fund

Mary and William McDonough moved to Wakefield following their marriage in 1937. Firm believers in higher education, they saw to it that all four of their children received college educations. In 1960, their daughter Carol was one of the original TSF of Wakefield scholarship award winners. Mary McDonough was employed in the Assessor’s Office for the Town of Wakefield. Her husband was a postal employee in Melrose. Their energies were directed toward supporting, enjoying and encouraging their children, all of whom were educated in the Wakefield schools.
