Justin L. Marshall Scholarship Fund

Although his life was tragically cut short at the age of 30, Justin Marshall lived his 30 years well. He was an outdoors enthusiast, enjoyed hiking, traveling, sports, concerts and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and best friend. He was an exceptional student, coach, volunteer, mentor, teammate and leader. Marshall is well remembered for his intelligence, compassion and ability to make others laugh. He is also well remembered for his focus, determination and devotion to higher learning. Marshall attended Wakefield Memorial High School through his junior year, where he was active in basketball and football. After his junior year, he transferred to Governor Dummer Academy in Byfield. While at GDA, Justin was involved with student government, played football and was captain of the basketball team. After high school, Marshall attended the United States Military Academy at West Point for two years before leaving due to back surgery. He went on to the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 2003 with a BA and a minor in public service. He then went on to pursue a law degree at Suffolk University and graduated with honors in May 2010. While in law school, he worked in the City of Boston law department and volunteered for several political campaigns. Marshall was a young man whose potential was limitless. In honor of his life and devotion to higher learning, Justin’s friends have established this memorial fund.
