Irving K. Stark was born in March of 1924 and died in May of 2015 of dementia. Irving was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1942. He later graduated from the University of Massachusetts. He worked for 30 years and later retired as a civil engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He had been a resident of Wakefield since 1951. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Olde Newbury Golf Club. He was also a member of the Wakefield Senior Bowling League. Irving had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he flew more than 60 missions in Europe and Africa.
Priscilla L. Stark was born in May of 1929 and died July of 2021. When her children were small, she was involved in PTA and the Greenwood Union Church. The couple had talked of having a fund in their name and had contributed many years to TSF. They were impressed with the work the Foundation does. Memorial donations made in Irving’s name started this fund, and Mrs. Stark brought the fund to its permanency in August of 2015.
