Edna May Paulson provided for the establishment of this fund in her will. She was a teacher in the Wakefield schools for over 40 years, beginning in 1926 at the Woodville School. She retired in 1972 after teaching at the then Atwell Junior High School. At the time of her retirement, the School Committee honored her by naming the junior high library after her. In her will, Miss Paulson indicated a preference for students in the field of veterinary medicine.
