Dennis Lehane Memorial Scholarship

Dennis was born on July 27, 1974. He was the third child and second boy of Joseph and Linda Lehane. Dennis attended school in Reading and played football and ran hurdles for Reading High School. He graduated from Reading High and attended U-Mass Dartmouth. Upon graduation, he joined the Elevator Constructors Local #4. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed swimming, biking, spending time with family and friends and especially his beloved girlfriend, Traci. He died on June 5, 1998 after a fall at work from atop a ladder on the side of a building. At the time of his death, he left behind his father, mother and stepfather, a sister and two brothers and a beloved niece as well as many friends and family. In his eulogy for Dennis, his brother Paul wrote, “He went about life in his own quiet, unassuming way never asking for the spotlight and always knowing in which direction he wanted to go while all the time never leaving family and friends behind.”
