Christopher M. Rollins’ loving family and friends established this fund in order to commemorate this young man’s life and with the knowledge that this scholarship will keep his memory alive by giving opportunities to Wakefield students in their pursuit of higher education. Christopher Rollins was 19 years old when he passed away on February 12, 2008 from a heart ailment. A lifelong resident of Wakefield, he was a senior at Wakefield High School and was a popular member of the Class of 2008. Chris was the manager of the high school football and baseball teams and an avid fan of the WHS hockey team. He was also involved in the culinary arts program at the high school. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish. Chris loved to fish, play video games, and was a big music fan who was never far from his IPod. Best of all, Chris loved hanging out with his friends. Chris was not deterred by the physical ailments he struggled with all his life. Instead of being limited by them, he persevered by playing baseball, basketball and street hockey. Chris touched all that he met with his big smile, his sense of humor and his obvious love for life. Chris was kind and gentle and saw the good in everybody and lived his life to the fullest extent.
