Dorothy Chisholm Fund

Dorothy E. Chisholm was born on July 20, 1912 and died in June of 1980. Dorothy was a teacher for 50 years in Malden’s Leonard School. She took her vocation very seriously. Her 2nd grade children were her life. She stressed phonics and was never too busy to stop and help someone in trouble. When she was born her right arm was paralyzed so therefore she wrote left-handed. Nevertheless, she got a diploma for her penmanship. It was wonderful! She passed her talents on to her students. She was a special reading teacher to many Malden residents and she received many awards.
