Francis C. Thurston Fund

This fund was established through a bequest in Mr. Thurston’s will. He was a textile engineer who died in 1985, after living in Wakefield for 50 years. Mr. Thurston graduated from Malden High School and later from Dartmouth College in 1928. He acted as a machinery broker in the removal of spinning machines and looms. He specialized in the transportation and installation of these machines from New England mills to mills located in the Southern States.
