Kenneth and Hilda Thomson Fund

This fund was a bequest from the estate of Ken Thomson and his wife Hilda. Ken practiced law in Boston from the 1930s into the late 1970s. Ken participated in local groups, serving on the Wakefield Planning Board, and as a director of the Wakefield YMCA. He was also active in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, and was a trustee for the Lakeside Cemetery Association. Hilda graduated from Miss Husted’s School of Occupational Therapy and later studied at the Museum School of Fine Arts and the Massachusetts School of Art. For many years, she worked in Boston and Wakefield at Edward E. Oakes Studio for hand wrought jewelry. Mr. Thomson served on many Boards in Boston that concerned the welfare of children. Having no children of their own, they left this bequest to help Wakefield’s children.
