Paula L. Smith Fund

Paula L. Smith died of cancer on June 1, 2005. She retired as chairman of the Language Department at Wakefield High School in June 2004. She graduated third in her class from Brockton High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Jackson College at Tufts University and her master’s in Education from Simmons College. She taught at Wakefield High for 36 years including Latin and Bachelor Living. She was the head of the Latin Club, state chairman of the Junior Classical League and attended national conventions with students who received national awards. She was an avid waver, knitter and spinner and was president of the Boston Spinner & Dyers Club. She loved skiing, cooking, golfing and entertaining all her friends.
