John & Doris Moriana Memorial Fund

This fund was established by the Moriana’s family and friends.

Doris Moriana, 73, died April 12, 2016 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born in the family home on Valley Street, Doris was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1959. She was a valued employee at Emerson & Cuming of Woburn as well as numerous part time endeavors which helped her to provide for her family. Doris had many talents including sewing, knitting, and cooking, to name a few; but there was not a craft she could not master. She enjoyed her retirement, taking care of her grandchildren and relaxing at her home away from home in Kennebunkport, ME with her husband, John. Doris loved taking long walks through Wakefield center with their late dog, Fiona. Doris will be deeply missed by many who loved her love of life.

John Moriana, 77, passed away on March 20, 2017 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in Boston, John was raised by his mother in “The Gulch” on Valley Street in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School class of 1958. John was a lifetime employee of Chomerics Corporation in Woburn where he was a Production Supervisor for many years before retiring. John also worked on the side gardening and landscaping to support his loving family. John was a dedicated sports fan of both professional and youth sports. John and Doris would often be seen at their grandchildren’s various sporting events. John made friends wherever he went around town and was well liked by all. John was an avid gardener who possessed a notorious “green thumb”‘ with his pristine lawn and garden. John enjoyed retirement taking care of his grandchildren and relaxing at his home away from home in Kennebunk, ME with Doris.
