Attorney & Mrs. Hugh J. Morgan, Jr. Scholarship Fund

Hugh Morgan was born in Wakefield on April 4, 1921 and was a lifelong resident until he passed away on January 23, 2002. He belonged to many local clubs and organizations, including the West Side Social Club and Crystal Community Club. Hugh practiced law in Wakefield and was elected Selectman in 1962 and served in the State House as a Representative for three terms. To add to his credentials, he served as Assistant Attorney General under Robert Quinn and Frank Bellotti. Hugh Morgan believed not only in serving the community he loved so much, but also giving back to that same community. Because of his lifelong commitment and love of Wakefield, his wife Barbara has established this fund in his honor. Like Hugh himself, the recipient of the scholarship will be awarded to a student who intends to pursue a career in law. Barbara Morgan passed away on October 28, 2008.
