Metcalf and Eddy, Inc. Fund

In 1989, the local engineering firm of Metcalf and Eddy, Inc. was looking for a local charitable organization to support. At the suggestion of the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce, the firm initiated this fund to benefit worthy Wakefield students. The fund was established from the proceeds of a softball game that pitted Metcalf and Eddy employees against those of a local radio station. The profits from the game totaled $850, an amount that was matched by Metcalf and Eddy, Inc.
