Nora and Alice McGrath Fund

This fund was established in memory of two sisters who lived all their lives in Wakefield. Nora died in 1988 at age 76, and Alice died in 1994 at age 79. Both were life-long, active members of St. Joseph’s Church. Although neither sister married, they spent their entire lifetimes helping others. Nora did not finish high school, but her sister Alice was a member of the Wakefield High School Class of 1933. Alice was employed for forty years as a registered nurse. Both Nora and Alice McGrath believed strongly in the value of a college education. Their fund has a preference for a student who is pursuing a career in nursing.
