The Kirmes family are long-time residents of Wakefield with strong ties to the town. The family includes parents Victor Kirmes (1914 – 2003) and Madeline (LoFaro) Kirmes (1920- 2011). Their children, all graduates of Wakefield Memorial High School, are Carolyn (Kirmes) Taylor, Class of 1965; Dr. William Kirmes, Class of 1967; Victor Kirmes, Jr., Class of 1969; Julia (Kirmes) Laverty, Class of 1974; and Joseph Kirmes, Class of 1978. The Kirmes children have many fond memories of growing up in Wakefield.
