Marjorie W. and Roscoe E. Irving Fund

Mr. and Mrs. Irving, whose five children all were educated in the Wakefield Public Schools, established this fund to benefit other Wakefield students. Natives of Hampshire, Marjorie and Roscoe Irving settled in Wakefield in 1949. Roscoe served in the Pacific during World War II and graduated from Boston University in 1949. He worked for Coopers & Lybrand immediately following graduation until he retired in 1986. He has served on the Finance Committee of the Town of Wakefield for many years and is also active with the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and The Savings Bank. Marjorie served on the Board of Directors of the E. E. Boit Home beginning in 1963 and she was a volunteer at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She died in 2005.
