Thomas Edward Hamel Fund

This fund was established by one of his sisters after Mr. Hamel’s death in October 1995. He lived on Sweetser Street for several years. His sister Eleanor still lives in Wakefield and he has many nieces and nephews who are graduates of WHS and live in or around Wakefield. Mr. Hamel was a US Army veteran, serving his country during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion. For many years he was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. His sister and late brother-in-law, Jean and David Proctor, both graduated from WHS Class of 1961. David Proctor, before his death, was also the custodian of three other TSF funds: the Farrington Fund, the Carleton and Dorothy Proctor Fund, and the David J. M. Proctor Fund.
