Walter J. Barczak Fund

Walt Barczak was a Resident of Wakefield for 55 years. He attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and was a decorated veteran of World War II, as a Navy seaman aboard submarines in the South Pacific. He worked most of his life as a mason and contractor. Walt’s family shares: “We would like to set up this fund to promote the spirit of self-reliance, overcoming adversity and being able to listen, evaluate and finding possible solutions to problems, as Walter himself displayed throughout his life. He instilled in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren a value for education, hard work and caring for those in need. May those who benefit from his fund grow in academic and civil awareness. And as Walter would say, find your passion, work hard, and build something of your life that you are proud of and that endures.”
