Edgar J. & Edwin F. Amirault Fund

The Amirault brothers were Wakefieldians via Yarmouth, N.S. Canada. They were close friends with Richard Muse and they all grew up together in the Crystal Lake Park area of Wakefield. Both brothers were called to service in WWII. Edwin died during the Battle of the Bulge in 1945. Edgar saw extensive duty in the South Pacific. As a Master Sergeant he was directly responsible for the small group of medics out of Wakefield who were activated with the 182nd Infantry. He was honorably discharged and received the Bronze Star for his service to our nation. He served as best man when Richard Muse married Christine and remained a close family friend of the family. He died in 2001 at the age of 90. He was a 50-year member of the West Side Social Club. The Amirault Fund will have a preference for students with ties to the West Side Social Club, Crystal Lake Park, or a descendant of a Gold Star Family.
