Rt. Rev. Lawrence J. Burns, MM Fund

This fund was established at the time of “Father Larry’s” death in late October 1999. A graduate of WHS Class of 1937, Father Burns joined the Maryknoll missionary order and was ordained a priest on June 9, 1946. He served most of his vocation as a missionary in South America, specifically in Bolivia. He concluded his service back in Wakefield in 1995 as a priest in residence at Saint Joseph Church where he had celebrated his first public Mass in 1946.
