Muriel MacDonald established this fund in memory of her parents, Robert and Estella MacDonald. Estella was born in Nova Scotia but later made her home in Wakefield. She was active in the Wakefield/Lynnfield United Methodist Church and the YMCA Women’s Auxiliary. She was also active with the American Red Cross both during and after World War II. Her husband Robert was best known in Wakefield as a firefighter, achieving the rank of Captain in 1945. He died in the line of duty at a two-alarm blaze in 1957.
