Robert & Lorraine Dolbeare Scholarship Fund

Robert Dolbeare was the retired president of the Wakefield Item Company and retired Publisher of the Wakefield Daily Item. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1948 and was a graduate of Dean Academy. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a former secretary of the Mass. Publisher Association, former President of The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, and former President of the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he was a member of the Wakefield High School Hall of Fame.

Lorraine is a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1949 and a graduate of the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1953. Lorraine worked as an RN at Melrose Wakefield Hospital, Salem Hospital, Winchester Hospital and the Lahey Clinic. She is also a Red Cross volunteer. The Dolbeares enjoyed spending time at their winter home in Lady of the Lake, Florida and during the remainder of the year, they lived in Maine.
