Nancy & Ernest F. “Tip” O’Neill Fund

Tip was a former President of the Warren School PTA and a firm believer in higher education. He was also active in the Wakefield Elks. In 1969 the West Side Social Club chose him as “Irishman of the Year”. Mr. O’Neil was a lifelong resident of Wakefield and all three of his children graduated from Wakefield High School. His wife Anna “Nancy” O’Neill died at the age of 81 in 2001. She was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia. During World War II, Mrs. O’Neill served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 – 1945 and was discharged as a staff sergeant. She was involved in the American Legion and with St. Joseph’s Church. In later life, she moved to Concord, NH where she remained active in church and doll making activities.
