Marjorie Rainge, head of the WHS Art Department, retired in 1985 after teaching Art at WHS for 28 years. An anonymous donor started the fund with a $1000 gift at the time of Miss Rainge’s retirement. Miss Rainge loved her work developing a new art curriculum and was involved in the Boston Globe Art Festival. She also painted, particularly seascapes of Rockport in her favorite medium, watercolors.
