Katherine F. and Harold D. Mullen Fund

Harold and Katherine Mullen came to Wakefield in 1949 where they raised five children, all of whom attended Wakefield schools. Harold, a Navy “Seabee”, was a veteran of World War II. He was employed for many years by the B. F. Goodrich Company in Watertown. Prior to her marriage to Harold, Katherine worked as a secretary at a Boston radio station. Later in the 1970s she worked at a Boston insurance company. Harold Mullen passed away in 1987 and Katherine died nine years later. Their children established this fund in memory of their parents’ strong commitment to provide each of them a good education. Several of the Mullen children directly benefited from scholarships provided by The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield.
