James M. & Nancy E. (Costantino) DeCamillis Fund

James was born on February 25, 1921 in Malden, MA, and passed away on July 11, 2010. Nancy was born on April 10, 1922 in Wakefield, MA, and passed away on September 30,2016. They were married on October 22, 1944. They had two children: Nancyellen and James, Jr. Additionally they had four grandchildren: Michelle (Chase) Courtright, Mathew Chase, Cody DeCamillis and Jesse DeCamillis. They also had seven great grandchildren: Amanda, Jonathan and Zackary Courtright; Mathew Paul Chase; and Mia, Ava and Sandro DeCamillis. This fund was established to provide students with the opportunity to receive scholarships to advance their education in the vocational trades; specifically in the field of carpentry, automotive repair, sewing and homemaking, including but not limited to, budgeting, finance and other domestic areas. Nancy was a homemaker early in their marriage, but as her children grew she worked at Adrian’s of Wakefield. James worked in the construction business and was a member of the local construction union. Nancy was an avid seamstress and often made her own clothes, as well as for her children. She always took other family members into her home to care for them. James was a builder. He built six houses for his family and he only asked that the family pay for the materials, donating all his time. Nancy was a long standing and loyal member of the Sons of Italy and held numerous positions. James was a member of the Wakefield Elks for most of his adult life. Together they were avid dancers and would go dancing every Saturday night. Watching them dance was like poetry in motion. They seem to be gliding on thin air. They will both be remembered as loving parents, grandparents and great grandparents as evidenced by their undying devotion for their family. Their generosity was evident in everything they did for their family and relatives. Their presence will be missed, but their devotion to their family will never be forgotten.
