In 1966, James A. Coogan moved with his wife Virginia and 5 children to Wakefield. In the 1970’s and 1980’s their children went through Wakefield schools and sports. All but one child/spouses stayed in Wakefield. Jim loved his grandkids (7 grandsons and 1 granddaughter) and missed very few, if any, games over the years. He was a quiet, strong man and showed his love and care through his actions, up until the day he died, February 3, 2017. This fund would make him happy. This fund was established by his family, and has a preference for a WHS athlete, who is exploring a career in law enforcement or public service.
