The Franklin J. Fotino Fund was established upon the sudden death of Mr. Fotino on Christmas Day of 1998. Born in Wakefield and a graduate of Wakefield High School in 1949, he was always interested in sports, especially football. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. Afterwards he established and worked in his own masonry business. He was survived by his wife, Patricia (Pari) Fotino, 4 sons, 4 daughters and 11 grandchildren.
Active in many organizations, he was appointed to the town Board of Appeals in 1983 and served as the board’s chairman a majority of the following 15 years. This fund memorializes a public-spirited citizen.
