This fund was established by Ellen and Walter Creedon, with a preference to assist someone who has returned to school after some lapse of time. The Creedons write: “We have established this fund because we believe in the value of education and the success many have had by getting a second chance. Walter dropped out of Arlington (MA) High School and enlisted in the Coast Guard near the end of WWII. After 1-1/2 years of service, he returned home to graduate high school and earn bachelor and Master degrees in Education. He spent the rest of his career as an elementary and junior high teacher of mathematics. Ellen worked for more than thirty years as a junior high and middle school teacher of Social Studies. We welcome the fund’s recipient to prove the benefit of a second chance.”
