David H. O’Brien Fund

David O’Brien was killed in a fiery car accident by a drunk driver in July 1990. This fund was established by his friends and his parents to honor and memorialize someone they considered to be very special, a person who lived life to the fullest and was an optimist with a smile as big as his heart. David attended Wakefield public schools until the eight grade, when he attended Austin Prep, Class of 1983, and University of Mass, Lowell. He was a computer technician at Microsoft in Bedford. He was an only child. In 1999, his mother, Ann O’Brien, died after a long battle with cancer. This fund has a preference for a student studying computer programming.
