This is TSF’s eighth corporate fund, established by this prominent local realtor to assist Wakefield students in their efforts to acquire higher education. Founded by Christopher and his wife Marilyn, Christopher J. Barrett Realtors has been in business since 1969. Christopher Barrett, who passed away in 2013, was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Boston College. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was active in the community, serving as a corporator of The Savings Bank, a member of the West Side Social Club and the Knights of Columbus, and a past vice president of the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce. Along with Marilyn, he was an avid tennis player and golfer and was an active member of Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham for 43 years. Marilyn Barrett is a former TSF Director, serving as treasurer in the 1970’s. She has also been active in the Col. James Hartshorne House.
