A. Charles & Mildred D. Confalone Fund

A. Charles Confalone, a life-long resident of Wakefield, died at the age of 88 in February 2007. Born in Wakefield, Mr. Confalone was a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1936 and the Bentley College School of Business in 1939. He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army from 1941 to 1944 earning a Bronze Star. Mr. Confalone was retired as general manager of the former Main Street Chevrolet in Wakefield and had also been a former owner of S & M Liquor on Water Street. He was a member of the Wakefield Knights of Columbus, the Wakefield Lodge of Elks and the last living founding member of the Crystal Community Club. This fund was established by his daughter as a tribute to her beloved father. The fund was renamed in 2015 to include his wife Mildred, who died at age 91 in October 2015. Mildred was born in Lynn, and was a graduate of Saugus High School, Class of 1942. She had been a Wakefield resident for the past 48 years. Mrs. Confalone was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Saugus. She enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking.
