Charles and Lillian Turner’s four daughters established this fund. Charles, who died in 1972, attended BC High School, Harvard, MIT and the Wharton School of Business. He worked for more than 35 years in Boston financial institutions, including being VP of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Lillian, who died in 1992, graduated from Lesley University. She loved music and dance and performed as a member of the Dorothea Dix Dance Company. She also worked as a sales representative for AT&T. The Turners chose Wakefield to raise their family for the town’s natural beauty, its quality of education, and the friendliness of its citizens. This memorial scholarship continues their respect and value for education and their interest in Wakefield’s future.
