Maureen Rubbico was a graduate of WHS Class of 1959 and a former Wakefield Junior High School teacher who died in 1978. She founded the Junior High School Council and National Honor Society. Early recipients of this fund were students of Maureen Rubbico. This fund continues to help local students and remembers a beloved teacher.
