Robert Modica, who died in 1984 from a heart condition, was a member of the Wakefield High School Class of 1977. Robert’s high school classmates established the fund to honor his memory. He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and an Eagle Scout with Wakefield Troop 703. In addition, he was an accomplished coin collector. Following Robert’s graduation from Wakefield High School, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This fund has a preference for a student in the field of mathematics or science.
