Marcus G. and Jean Wheeler Beebe Fund

This fund was established at the time of Marcus Beebe’s death in September 1994. The Beebe’s were at one time a prominent Wakefield family, with ties to the Beebe Library and well-known Beebe’s Cove. Marcus Beebe, WHS 1932, graduated from Amherst College and Suffolk Law School. He served in World War II and when living in Wakefield during the 40’s and 50’s, served on the School Committee and the Finance Committee. He was also a Charter Member of TSF of Wakefield when the Foundation was begun in 1960. Jean Wheeler Beebe, WHS 1932, graduated from Smith College. She served on the School Committee for two terms in the 1950’s and was active with the American Field Service Group at WHS. Mrs. Beebe died in 1991.
