Michael and Helen Kelly Fund

When Michael Kelly died in 1991 at the age of 83, his widow Helen and their children established this fund. Supporting The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield was one of Michael Kelly’s priorities, particularly since several of his children and grandchildren benefited from TSF scholarship awards. Michael was a Wakefield native who retired in 1970 after working for the U. S. Postal Service. A World War II veteran, he was a member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks and the Firefighters’ Relief Association and Mutual Aid Society. He was a close friend of the late Bill Lee, a prominent Wakefield attorney. In April of 2002, Helen also died. She was 98 years old.
