Griffin Family Fund

My parents Joseph and Eileen Griffin moved to Wakefield in 1969 and I was raised in the town. Both my parents were strong advocates of the importance of education and loved their many years of residence in Wakefield. I was the youngest of their four children and due to a significant age gap was the only one who attended the Wakefield school system. I graduated from WHS in 1983 and I believe was the first recipient of the Boston College scholarship. I went on to BC and graduated with a BS Finance and Marketing cum laude in 1987. My father, a MDC police officer, passed away in 1980 and the scholarship was extremely helpful in achieving my educational goals as my mother was a single working mother. After my mother passed away in 2013 my nephew, Patrick Griffin purchased their home on West Park Drive and he and his wife Erin are now raising their three children, Patrick, Quinn, and Noah there. His father, William, who is my brother, passed away in August 2021 and his death was the motivator to establish the fund. We would like to give back to the residents and are thrilled to have been able to establish a permanent fund.
