Linda M. Gray Fund

Linda Gray was a well-loved and respected teacher at the Yeuell School. She passed away on May 10, 2002 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Literally hundreds of Wakefield youngsters got their start in her warm and nurturing classroom and many parents were soothed by her expertise and firm yet gentle manner. Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of Mary (Jordan) Reardon and the late William Reardon. A graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1971, Mrs. Gray was a graduate of Salem State College. Mrs. Gray was a kindergarten teacher at the Yeuell and Greenwood Schools for 26 years. In her early years, she was very active in Girl Scouting, as well as a playground instructor and a volunteer at the Fernald School with the WHS Peace Corps. She was the wife of John F. Gray and the mother of two sons, John and Michael Gray. This fund has a preference for students studying education or nursing.
