Maurice J. Dwyer Fund

Maurice Dwyer’s children established this fund a few months after his death in December 1993. Raised and educated in Greenfield, MA, Mr. Dwyer graduated from Yale University in 1935 and earned a Masters in Education degree from Harvard University in 1939. After serving his country in World War II, he worked many years in the Wakefield school system, serving first as a mathematics and science teacher and later as the Director of Guidance at Wakefield High School. Mr. Dwyer also served as a Director of The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield in its early years and was later named an Honorary Director of the organization. He retired to Greenfield, where he lived until his death.
